Job Overview
The purpose of the Senior Business Development Manager role is to drive high-value growth by identifying, winning, and launching strategic partners that can generate meaningful and sustainable sales on Barakah.
This role goes beyond signing vendors. You will own complex opportunities from prospecting through negotiation and launch, build relationships with key decision-makers, and focus your efforts on partners with the strongest commercial potential.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of ownership, commercial judgment, and urgency — building a strong pipeline and consistently turning opportunities into performing partnerships.
What you will do
Identify, pursue, and close high-value partnerships with strategic F&B brands, groups, and merchants
Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities aligned with Barakah’s commercial priorities
Develop relationships with business owners, senior executives, and key decision-makers
Understand partner economics, operational models, and business needs to identify commercially attractive opportunities
Lead pitches, commercial discussions, negotiations, and deal structuring from first contact through signing
Develop tailored commercial proposals that create value for both Barakah and its partners
Prioritize opportunities based on revenue potential, scalability, strategic value, and likelihood of success
Navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and maintain momentum through to closure
Work closely with Operations, Account Management, Growth, and other internal teams to ensure successful partner launches
Ensure newly signed partners are launched with the right commercial and operational foundations to perform
Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasts, activity, and deal progress in CRM
Use market intelligence and partner feedback to identify new opportunities and strengthen Barakah’s commercial approach
Contribute to improving business development processes, sales playbooks, and go-to-market execution
Consistently deliver against acquisition, launch, and commercial performance targets
What we’re looking for
5+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, partnerships, or commercial roles
At least 3 years of relevant experience in F&B or a closely related sector, preferably food delivery platforms, marketplaces, food supply chain, retail, hospitality, or e-commerce
Strong track record of originating, negotiating, and closing meaningful commercial opportunities
Proven experience building relationships with F&B brands, restaurant groups, retailers, or other relevant business partners
Strong commercial judgment and ability to assess the real potential of a partner or opportunity
Confidence engaging and influencing senior decision-makers
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to manage complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
Strong pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline
Data-driven approach to prioritizing opportunities and making commercial decisions
Strong understanding of unit economics and the commercial drivers behind successful partnerships
Ability to balance short-term targets with long-term partner value
High level of ownership, independence, and accountability
Resilience, persistence, and the ability to maintain momentum in a demanding sales environment
You’ll do well in this role if you
Think commercially and naturally focus your time on opportunities with the highest potential impact
Are comfortable opening doors and building relationships with senior decision-makers
Enjoy owning a deal from the first conversation through negotiation, signing, and successful launch
Know when to push a deal forward, when to change your approach, and when an opportunity is not worth pursuing
Can negotiate confidently without losing sight of long-term partnership value
Care more about the quality and performance of the partners you sign than the number of logos added
Are comfortable being accountable for a pipeline, forecast, and commercial targets
Can move between strategic conversations and hands-on execution without losing momentum
Use data and market insight to make better commercial decisions
Work effectively across teams to remove obstacles and get partnerships launched
Thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and opportunities need to be acted on quickly
Want to build partnerships that generate meaningful revenue while contributing to Barakah’s mission of reducing food waste

About Barakah
Barakah is a Saudi marketplace for surplus food. Restaurants, cafés and bakeries list their end-of-day surplus at a discount, and customers pick it up through the Barakah app — good food gets eaten, merchants earn from what would have gone to waste, and everyone gets a little more Barakah. Headquartered in Jeddah, operating across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
